Bio/CV

Allon Wagner joined the faculty in January 2024 as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS), Assistant Professor of Immunology and Molecular Medicine in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB), and a Core Member of the Center for Computational Biology (CCB). He is broadly interested in statistical machine learning and data-driven approaches to study complex disease from emerging single-cell and spatial data modalities. His group develops computational methods to characterize cell behavior at tissue scale, integrating spatially resolved and single-cell multiomic measurements, with a particular focus on mathematical modeling of cellular metabolism. Dr. Wagner’s scientific approach emphasizes interdisciplinarity, and his group collaborates closely with experimental biologists and clinicians across diverse disorders, including cancer, autoimmunity, and neuropsychiatric and degenerative disease. His research was recognized by the Cancer Research Institute, the Binational Science Foundation, and the Shurl and Kay Curci Foundation.
